Cryptopunks — Can we call this art?

In my previous post, I decided to talk about the inspiration behind Four Dimensions and shared some personal details about my journey.

It was hard to open up and write something like that, but perhaps it was my way of doing therapy and seeking some relief.

To my surprise, there have been some unexpected reactions. Some people have had words of encouragement, but many have been borderline disrespectful.

And to be clear, I don’t have a victim mentality. As tragic as the current situation is in my country, I am simply moving forward and doing my best to adapt to a completely different culture.

Ask yourself the following question, what would you do if you had to start from scratch?

I wish I had a marketing agency behind me that could help me sell my work, but I don’t. The only option I have is to tell the people around me. But some people think that simply mentioning that I am selling my art it’s a sin and gives them the right to make me feel small.

Buying art, and especially NFTs, is a personal choice. And even though some people have made fortunes speculating with NFTs, the best reason to buy art is to buy something you genuinely like.

It would have been easy for me to create a few pixelated faces (like Cryptopunks) and let a computer generate thousands of them. But as an experienced concept artist, I believe I have something more to offer. Four Dimensions took me hundreds of hours to create, and there is a story behind it. I didn’t want to make something generic or repeat what everyone else is doing in the industry. I wanted to create something I could stand behind as an artist.

Sorry for the rant, but I felt like I needed to say this after getting so many disrespectful messages. And if you genuinely like my art, here is the link to Four Dimensions.

I am always happy to answer any questions about my art and how NFTs work. Thank you very much for supporting me.

Sincerely yours,

Heidy
